Oil to Heat Pump Affordability Program
Grants of up to $15,000 to help eligible homeowners switch from oil heating to energy-efficient heat pumps, covering installation, electrical upgrades, oil tank removal, and backup heating.
UP TO $2,000
Home Heating System Rebates
Up to $2,000 for homeowners upgrading to energy-efficient heating systems like heat pumps, electric thermal storage, or woodstoves. Eligible homes must be at least six months old and used as a primary residence.

Am I Eligible for a Rebate?
Efficiency Nova Scotia offers grant programs to help homeowners upgrade to energy-efficient heating systems. To qualify, you must meet certain eligibility criteria, including:
Location & Property Type
Available to homeowners and landlords across Nova Scotia, including those with single-family homes, duplexes, and qualifying rental properties.
Existing Heating System
Your home must have an eligible primary heating system, such as electric, oil, or propane, with the opportunity to upgrade to an energy-efficient alternative.
Income Requirements
Some rebates are designed for low-to-moderate income households, and certain programs may require a home energy assessment.
HOW TO APPLY
Applying for Your Rebate with Efficiency NS
To apply for rebates through this program, homeowners must submit their application directly to Efficiency Nova Scotia, including proof of purchase, installation invoices, and any required documentation. Applications must be submitted within 180 days of completing the upgrade, and rebates will be issued upon approval.
